Travels in Norway

All good with us. Now in Norway, weather a bit inclement, but then Bergen has about 320 wet days so we figure you would have to be lucky to strike a sunny one. Rain mainly light and certainly has not stopped us from doing what we have wanted to do.

Village of Telavag, played an important role in the secret North Sea boat traffic between Norway & Great Britain. Later razed by the Gestapo, woman and children held in prison camp in Norway. The men imprisoned in Nazi camp at Sachsenhausen, 31 were murdered. After the war the village was rebuilt.

The village of Telavag which was completely destroyed by the Gestapo in WW11, because the villagers were ferrying escaped allied fighters to the Shetland Islands and returning with supplies for the resistance fighters. The village was rebuilt after the war.

24.5 kilometre tunnel, the longest land tunnel in the world. There are three sections coloured to mimic a sunset to help keep drivers awake. We travelled through a total of 144 tunnels in Scandinavia.
