The intrepid OM:NItraveller….

…. has just passed through Wolfe Creek on his journeys in the far North West.

Wcreek…… a bit of rough going on the Tanami Track.

IMG_0165The Wolfe Creek crater is accessed by the Tanami Track about 150km south of Halls Gap in the north of Western Australia.

The crater is about 875 meters in diameter with a depth of 60 meters from rim to crater floor.

It is estimated to have been created by a meteor of approximately 50,000 tonnes which collided with the Earth in the Pleistocene period some 300,000 years ago.
